Working in co-ordination with the paid staff and within the guidelines set by the Home to provide caring companionship and support to enhance the quality of life of Residents whilst respecting the motivations of Volunteers.

We run a comprehensive Community Service Program for high school students in Year 10 and above as well as a program for Bar/Batmitzvah students. Students visit the Home and work with our Residents and are supervised by our experienced staff at all times. Students are given basic training which gives them an understanding of some issues relating to aged Residents in care.
Students undergoing the Duke of Edinburgh Award are most welcome to complete their service hours at Montefiore. Bar/Batmitzvah-aged children are offered education as part of their Jewish studies and attend the Home accompanied by their Rabbis and teachers.
For further details regarding these programs, please contact our Volunteer Manager on (02) 8345 9154 or email volunteers@montefiorehome.com.au
