He'll even surprise any little friends who are in hospital, if you
let him know they'd love a visit!

Montefiore’s Lion mascot, Monte (short for Montefiore) has been created to give
the Home a friendly and appealing ‘face’ and an accessible persona.
This Lion appeals to young and old alike. He “personifies” the warmth, care,
friendship and family, and security the Home provides its Residents and the
broader community. He represents the lion in our heraldic crest and the Lion of
Jordon. Monte plays an important role in welcoming children to the Home,
visiting schools and celebrating Simchas with Montefiore Residents, their families
and the broader community. As a friend to our children, he helps explain the
important role that the aged play in our community, and the value of caring.
He encourages interaction between young and old, and facilitates understanding
of ageing by our youth.
