Vision & Mission
To enhance the quality of life of the aged community, by providing an exceptional standard of service and care, and embracing the richness of Jewish culture and tradition.
To be the leader in the field of aged care. To develop, implement and promote best practice in all aspects of aged care by continuously reviewing and improving services and service delivery.
Quality of Life
Consistent with the organisation’s Mission and Vision Statements, the Montefiore Home has a philosophy of care that is based on maximising the quality of life or our Residents. We recognise eleven key elements of quality of life for the elderly and a set of supporting values that guide it in its day-to-day activities.
These elements and supporting values are integrated into the fabric of the organisation and any decision-making process.

Working in co-ordination with the paid staff and within the guidelines set by the Home to provide caring companionship and support to enhance the quality of life of Residents whilst respecting the motivations of Volunteers.
Community Service Programs
We run a comprehensive Community Service Program for high school students in Year 10 and above as well as a program for Bar/Batmitzvah students. These students visit the Home and work with our residents over an agreed period and are supervised by our experienced staff at all times. Basic training is given to students as well as an understanding of some issues relating to aged Residents in care.
Students undergoing the Duke of Edinburgh Award are most welcome to complete their service hours at Montefiore. Bar/Batmitzvah-aged children are offered education as part of their Jewish studies and attend the Home accompanied by their Rabbis and teachers.
For further details regarding these programs, please contact our Volunteer Officer (02) 8345 9114 or email email@example.com
