Montefiore is a leader in aged care and has received numerous awards and accolades for its campuses and services. The organisation’s performance in regard to its community responsibility has been recognised at national level.
2011 Awards
Aged Care Association of Australia (ACAA) Employer of Choice award. Montefiore recieved a 'highly commended' in recognition of the many initiatives that have been implemented in order to realise Montefiore’s objective of being an ‘Employer of Choice’. Areas which Montefiore was highly commended on include; strategies to create a team spirit and innovation and creativity to support satisfaction, demonstrated high staff morale & measures of attitude over time, Promoting a Family Friendly & Happy Workplace, Training & Career Path Opportunities.
Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency (ACSSA) Better Practice Award 2011 for programs which benefit Resident Lifestyle. Montefiore won this prestigious award for the Volunteering program which enhances quality of life for our Residents. It was presented by Dr June Heinrich AM, who together with Ms Ann Wunsch, Acting General Manager Education, evaluated the program.
2010 Awards
Positive Living in Aged Care Award from the Aged and Community Services Association of NSW & ACT (ACS) in collaboration with the Aged Care Association Australian – NSW (ACAA).
Awarded second place for the Zikharon V'Tikvah (Remembrance and Hope) Project, also known as the 'Butterfly Project'. The project involved students from Moriah College working on ceramic butterflies at Montefiore with Residents as a visual representation to remember the 1.5 million children who died in the Holocaust and to honour the survivors and celebrate their lives.
2009 Awards
Annual Property Council of Australia Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards. Montefiore's Randwick campus was awarded the Bilfinger Berger Australia Award for Emerging Assets which recognises the efficient use of capital in a new or refurbished emerging asset development. This is the first time the award was given to an aged care facility.
Positive Living in Aged Care Award from the Aged and Community Services Association of NSW & ACT (ACS) in collaboration with the Aged Care Association Australian – NSW (ACAA) for Montefiores staff training program, Working with Ageing Holocaust Survivors which equips staff with the necessary skills to address the unique care needs of our many Residents who are Holocaust Survivors.
Podiatric Excellence (public sector) Award from the Australian Podiatry Association (NSW) awarded to Hollie Parsons, Woollahra and Randwick Hostel Podiatrist and High Risk consultant. The award recognises special achievement, innovative approaches, personal development, patient care and professional skills, including management and team skills.
2008 Awards
Federal Government Community Service Award for Aged Care. Awarded to President David Freeman AM and Hon. Secretary Max Khan in recognition of many years of support and care for the Australian Jewish Community. "These men are doyens of care and deserve recognition," said Justine Elliot, Minister of Health and Ageing.
Golden Service Awards, sponsored by Kimberly Clark Professional. Montefiore's contracted cleaning company, Medclean were awarded top honours for cleaning and allied services in healthcare and aged care. The awards are the premier recognition of excellence in the Building Services industry, creating a benchmark for quality and performance. judging was carried out by an independent industry specialist through an on-site inspection.
Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) NSW Award for Design in Landscape Architecture and NSW Award for Residential Designed Landscapes. Awarded to Montefiore Randwick campus for its landscape design and gardens designed by Oculus which create a perfect environment for our Residents.
Randwick City Council Award for Best Professionally Maintained Garden. Awarded to Montefiore Randwick campus for it's gardens designed by Oculus and maintained by a team of excellent gardeners.
The judge’s comment was, “A stylish yet practical hydrotherapy pool. A very functional design yet pleasing on the eye." The pool continues to attract unreserved praise for its state-of-the-art design and facilities.
2007 Awards

International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Design Award, to Gilmore Design and the Shaw Contract Group for the Dining Hall design at the Randwick campus.
Landscape Contractors Association of NSW, Award for Best Commercial Project, to Design Landscapes, Inc who worked on the Montefiore Home Randwick Campus.
